[Financial News] President of China Xi Jinping sent a reply expressing his gratitude to North Korean President of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un, who had sent a message of condolence regarding the massive flood damage in the Himalayan mountain region.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on the 25th, Xi Jinping stated in a reply sent to Kim Jong Un on the 21st, "Your sending of a message of condolence is a manifestation of the sincere friendship of the Korean Party, government, and people toward the Chinese Party, government, and people."
He added, "Under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the people in the disaster-stricken areas will unite their strength and rise up, and will surely restore normal production and daily life as soon as possible."
Kim Jong Un had previously sent a message of condolence to Xi Jinping on the 28th of last month, stating, "I extend my most sincere condolences and sympathy to your government and people, the bereaved families, and the victims, and hope that the damage will be alleviated as soon as possible."
At the end of last month, massive floods occurred in the central and northern Himalayan mountain region of Nepal, which shares a border with China. As of the 17th (local time), more than 1,000 people had died and approximately 6,000 were reported missing.
