Could Clouds Obscure the Chuseok Full Moon? Jeju Mostly Cloudy on Chuseok Night

According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Office on the 25th, Jeju Province will be mostly cloudy. The daytime high is expected to reach 27–28°C, above the average range of 24.8–26.3°C.
The daytime high is forecast at 28°C in Jeju Province, Seogwipo and Gosan, and 27°C in Seongsan. In the mountainous areas, temperatures are expected to reach 26°C in Sancheondan, 26°C in Hannam and 24°C in Seongpanak.
Attention is focused on whether the Chuseok full moon will be visible that night. The short-term forecast for all of Jeju Province calls for mostly cloudy conditions. Major areas, including Jeju City and Seogwipo City, are also expected to remain cloudy in the afternoon.
As a result, weather conditions will not be ideal for viewing the full moon clearly against a clear sky. However, no rain is forecast in Jeju Province, and cloud cover will vary by area, so the possibility that the moon may be visible through breaks in the clouds cannot be ruled out.
The date of Chuseok does not always exactly coincide with the astronomical moment when the moon is completely full.
According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI), this year's Chuseok full moon will rise at 5:34 p.m., as viewed from Seoul. The moon will be directly opposite the sun and reach astronomical full moon at 1:49 a.m. on the 27th.
Therefore, the moon seen on Chuseok night will look nearly full to the naked eye, but its left side will be slightly less illuminated. This is because Chuseok, which falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, does not always coincide with the moment when the moon is astronomically fullest.

The holiday weather will change significantly starting Saturday, the 26th. Rain is expected in Jeju Province from early dawn through the evening, with 20–80 mm of precipitation forecast.
The morning low on the 26th is expected to be 22–23°C, while the daytime high will reach 26–27°C. The probability of precipitation in the morning is forecast at 80% in Seongpanak and 70% in most areas, including Jeju Province, Seogwipo, Seongsan and Gosan.
On Sunday, the 27th, occasional rain is expected from morning through late afternoon, mainly in areas south of Hallasan. The anticipated rainfall is 5–10 mm.
Rain may continue throughout both the morning and afternoon in southern and eastern areas, including Seogwipo and Seongsan. The chance of rain is relatively lower in northern Jeju Province and Gosan.
Conditions at sea will also deteriorate. Waves in the waters off Jeju Island are expected to reach 0.5–1.5 meters on the 25th and rise to 1.0–2.5 meters on the 26th. Waves of up to 2.5 meters are also forecast in the inner offshore waters southwest and southeast of Jeju Island and in the outer offshore waters to the south.
In particular, strong gusts, thunder and lightning are expected in some areas at sea on the 26th. Passengers using ferries and fishing vessels should check operating information before traveling.
After the rain ends on the 27th, Jeju Province will be mostly cloudy on the 28th, with a daytime high of 26–27°C expected.
The Jeju Regional Meteorological Office urged holiday travelers and people using maritime transport to exercise caution for travel safety, as rain and strong gusts, thunder and lightning at sea are expected on the 26th.
