 【Financial News, Mexico City, Mexico = Reporter Choi Jong-geun】In a joint press statement following his summit with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum at the National Palace in Mexico City on the 24th (local time), President Lee Jae Myung said, "The Memorandum of Understanding on Aerospace Industry Cooperation (MOU) signed today will enable us to identify concrete projects to enhance the competitiveness of the aerospace industry through the Korea-Mexico Space Day event to be held in Mexico in November."
He continued, "In addition, President Claudia Sheinbaum and I agreed to explore ways for Korea to contribute to Mexico's ongoing military modernization process. Through the MOU on Defense Cooperation signed this time, we will substantially expand exchanges in various areas, including the sharing of defense-related experience, education, training, and research and development," he emphasized.
President Lee said, "I asked President Claudia Sheinbaum for her special attention and support so that Korea's outstanding defense technology can lead to local production in Mexico, contribute to strengthening Mexico's defense industry capabilities, and enable the two countries to jointly enter third-country markets."
