Park Si-eun Takes Surprise Silver in Women's 200-Meter Breaststroke, Finishes 0.12 Seconds Behind Winner [Nagoya AG]

[Financial News]  Park Si-eun of the Gangwon State Sports Council won the silver medal in the women's 200-meter breaststroke at the 2026 edition of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya.
Park Si-eun finished second in the women's 200-meter breaststroke final at the Tokyo Aquatics Center in Japan on the 24th, clocking 2:22.69. She lowered the previous Korean record of 2:23.21, set by Moon Su-a of Seoul Physical Education High School at last year's National Sports Festival, by 0.52 seconds. She finished just 0.12 seconds behind Japan's Kotomi Kato, who won gold in 2:22.57.
Park Si-eun's silver medal is the third won by a South Korean swimmer at these Games, following Kim Yeong-beom in the men's 100-meter freestyle and Hwang Sun-woo in the men's 200-meter freestyle.
