[Financial News] South Korea's national sepaktakraw team has reached the women's team regu final at the Asian Games for the third consecutive time, securing at least a silver medal.
On the afternoon of the 24th, South Korea defeated Indonesia by a 2-0 regu score in the women's team regu semifinals at the 2026 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, held at Mizuho Park Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan.
South Korea previously won silver medals in the women's team regu event at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games and the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
South Korea will compete for the gold medal against Thailand at 9 a.m. on the 25th at the same venue. Thailand decisively defeated host Japan 2-0 in regu score in the semifinals.
Thailand, the world's strongest sepaktakraw nation, is seeking its fifth consecutive title since the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou.
South Korea's only Asian Games sepaktakraw gold medal came 24 years ago in the men's circle event at the 2002 Busan Asian Games. In this event, players stand in a circle and perform various skills similar to jegichagi, with the scores added together; it remains the country's only gold across all men's and women's events.
Team regu is a team event in which each side fields three regus, or three-player units, and competes head-to-head.
