Shooting: Hong Su-hyeon Advances to Final After Ranking Eighth in Men's 10m Air Pistol Qualification [Nagoya Asian Games]

[Financial News] Hong Su-hyeon of South Korea advanced to the final of the men's 10m air pistol individual event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Hong Su-hyeon scored 581 points, including 16 X-tens, to rank eighth overall in the men's 10m air pistol individual qualification round held on the 24th at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Range in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Muhammad Iqbal Laia Prabowo of Indonesia ranked first overall with 589 points. Bu Shuaihang of China and Sultanul Aulia Maruf of Indonesia each scored 583 points, ranking second and third, respectively, with 21 and 16 X-tens. So Seung-seop of Seosan City Hall, who competed alongside Hong Su-hyeon, ranked 22nd with 572 points, while Kim Tae-yeong of Daegu Public Facilities Corporation finished 44th with 563 points and failed to advance to the final.
In the team event, South Korea combined the scores of Hong Su-hyeon, So Seung-seop and Kim Tae-yeong for a total of 1,716 points, placing eighth among 15 teams and failing to win a medal.
China and Indonesia each scored 1,743 points, but China won the gold medal by leading 70-57 in the number of X-tens. Indonesia took the silver, while Japan won the bronze with 1,730 points.
North Korea placed sixth in the team event with a combined score of 1,722 points from Rim Ryu-seong, who scored 575 points to rank 17th; Kim Song-guk, who scored 574 points to rank 20th; and Ho Se-rim, who scored 573 points to rank 21st. However, none of the three advanced to the individual event final.
