Kim Son-gyong, North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister, Arrives in New York

[Financial News] Kim Son-gyong, North Korea's vice foreign minister, arrived in New York on the 23rd local time to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The North Korean delegation, including Vice Minister Kim, arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport on an Air China flight from Beijing at around 10 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time that day.
After emerging from the airport terminal about 50 minutes later, Vice Minister Kim did not respond to reporters' questions, including, "Do you plan to contact the U.S. side during your visit?"
Kim Song, North Korea's ambassador to the United Nations, who had been waiting at the airport to greet Vice Minister Kim, also declined to answer questions.
The delegation, including Vice Minister Kim, left the airport in a vehicle from the Permanent Mission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the United Nations.
Kim, a vice minister-level official in charge of international organizations, is scheduled to deliver a speech from the rostrum at United Nations Headquarters on the 28th, the final day of the general debate during the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly.
He is expected to reiterate North Korea's justification for possessing nuclear weapons and present the direction of its foreign policy.
At last year's United Nations General Assembly, Kim also firmly ruled out denuclearization, stating, "We will never give up our nuclear weapons, and under no circumstances will we retract this position."
