Foreign Minister Cho Hyun Holds Talks with Ukraine over Handover of North Korean POWs

[Financial News] Foreign Minister Cho Hyun held talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha as it emerged that Ukraine had recently handed over two North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on the 24th, Cho, who is visiting New York, United States, to attend the United Nations General Assembly, met with Foreign Minister Sybiha on the 23rd (local time) and exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional developments.
The talks took place as it became known that two North Korean prisoners of war had been sent to South Korea.
However, MOFA made no separate mention of the North Korean prisoners of war when announcing the outcome of the South Korea-Ukraine foreign ministers' meeting.
Cho recalled that the South Korean government had announced its commitment to support Ukraine at the recent North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit and said it would continue providing the support the Ukrainian people need.
Foreign Minister Sybiha expressed gratitude for the South Korean government's support and said he hoped to work closely with the international community, including South Korea, for Ukraine's peace and recovery.
Cho also met that day with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, with the two sides exchanging views on bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East. Cho emphasized that the free and safe passage of all vessels through the Strait of Hormuz must be guaranteed.
Cho also held separate talks with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Germany, Pakistan and Brazil.
