White House: "Presidents Donald Trump and Lee Jae Myung Discussed Shipbuilding Cooperation and Other Issues"

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump and President Lee Jae Myung met in New York on the occasion of the UN General Assembly to discuss shipbuilding cooperation and other matters.
A White House official said on the 23rd (local time), "President Trump and President Lee held a brief meeting on the occasion of a UN General Assembly leaders' reception," adding, "They discussed a range of issues, including shipbuilding cooperation."
The White House confirmed the meeting after President Lee said he had met with President Trump on the night of the 22nd to discuss cooperation in shipbuilding, including warship construction.
At the Invest Korea Summit held in New York that day, President Lee referred to his meeting with President Trump and said, "I expect that we may see somewhat more tangible results going forward."
He continued, "Shipbuilding cooperation between South Korea and the United States is taking concrete shape. Strategic vessels for the United States are planned to be built at Hanwha Philly Shipyard, which Hanwha Group will invest in, and participation is also under way in the development of the U.S. military's next-generation firepower systems."
