Typhoon No. 26 'Surigae' Forms, Expected to Reach Waters Southwest of Okinawa Prefecture on the 28th

[Financial News]  Typhoon No. 26 'Surigae (SURIGAE)' formed in waters west-northwest of Guam at 9 p.m. on the 23rd. Moving westward, Surigae is expected to gradually strengthen and reach waters approximately 320 km southwest of Okinawa Prefecture on the 28th.
According to the Korean Meteorological Administration, Surigae formed in waters approximately 920 km west-northwest of Guam at 9 p.m. that day. At the time of formation, its central pressure was 1002 hPa, and its maximum wind speed near the center was 18 m/s.
Surigae is forecast to move into waters approximately 1,070 km southeast of Okinawa Prefecture at 9 p.m. on the 24th, and into waters approximately 780 km south of Okinawa Prefecture at 9 p.m. on the 25th.
The storm is also expected to gradually strengthen as it moves. Its maximum wind speed is forecast to increase from 21 m/s at 9 p.m. on the 25th to 27 m/s at 9 p.m. on the 26th and 32 m/s at 9 p.m. on the 27th.
At 9 p.m. on the 28th, Surigae is expected to be located in waters approximately 320 km southwest of Okinawa Prefecture, with a central pressure of 965 hPa, maximum winds of 37 m/s (133 km/h), and an intensity of 3, the Korean Meteorological Administration forecast.
Meanwhile, Surigae is a name submitted by North Korea.
