[Financial News] Sungshin Cement is identifying challenges related to leadership, conflict management and work engagement within each organization and developing tailored improvement measures.
According to Sungshin Cement on the 23rd, the company is operating its second-year company-wide communication program across all business sites from April through October. This year, 592 employees from the headquarters, the Danyang plant and other sites are participating.
The program is part of a three-year organizational culture project launched last year. While last year's focus was on building a foundation for communication at the team and section levels, this year's program centers on having employees jointly identify organizational issues and apply improvement initiatives to their actual work.
At the headquarters, key issues for each organization are identified through a preliminary assessment, after which a facilitator suited to each organization's characteristics is assigned. Employees discuss topics such as leadership, conflict management and work engagement, then define specific improvement directions and action items.
The Danyang plant is moving beyond last year's effort to "strengthen communication at the team and section levels" and pursuing this year's goal of "changing the way teams and sections work." Leadership coaching is being expanded for leadership groups, while action plans are being developed to improve collaboration methods and work processes on site.
The "Linker" system, which supports communication within the organization, will also continue. Through Linker workshops, the company plans to strengthen employees' ability to facilitate communication and promote voluntary exchanges of views within the organization.
A Sungshin Cement official said, "If last year focused on laying the foundation for communication, this year it is important to connect that foundation to actual collaboration and changes in the way we work," adding, "We will create a culture in which employees jointly consider organizational challenges and find solutions."
