[Financial News] Cheong Wa Dae on the 23rd criticized Cho Hee-dae, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea, over his refusal to re-nominate Supreme Court justice candidates, saying, "The very attempt to exclude lawfully recommended candidates from consideration for nomination undermines the fairness of the process."
Cheong Wa Dae made the statement in a notice to the press that day.
It added, "Although four candidates were lawfully recommended by the Committee of Recommendation of Supreme Court Justice Candidates under the Court Organization Act, contacting the candidates individually to ask whether they intended to resign in order to restart the candidate recommendation process without any statutory basis constitutes a serious procedural defect."
