Barred from the White House, then told at the United Nations (UN), "Don't cover me"—Trump's crackdown on the press

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump rebuked Kaitlan Collins, a CNN reporter barred from the White House, after encountering her at UN headquarters, telling her, "You must not cover me."
According to The Washington Post (WP), CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins asked Trump, who arrived at the UN General Assembly on the 22nd local time, about U.S. public opinion on the war with Iran.
Trump responded, "I'm surprised CNN is here to cover me," while Collins explained, "The UN allowed us access."
Collins repeated the question, but Trump ignored her and kept saying, "You are not supposed to cover me here. You said you weren't going to cover me. You are not supposed to cover me."
Trump previously announced on the 18th, "I am banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House."
After media outlets criticized the move on the grounds that it violated the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of the press, Trump argued on the 21st, "The White House is not attacking freedom of the press. It is attacking 'fake news,' which has grown like cancer in America."
Currently, CNN, MS NOW, and Politico have filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in response to the measure. They have also filed emergency motions seeking to restore their White House access. The court is scheduled to hear the outlets' emergency motions on the 23rd.
Trump said on the 22nd, "The judge handling this case is not an especially fair judge," but added, "If the court invalidates the access ban, I will allow the three outlets back into the White House." He nevertheless insisted that he should retain the authority to remove them.
