Men's Team Regu Falls 0-3 to Indonesia, Misses Semifinals [Nagoya Asian Games]

[Financial News] South Korea's men's national sepaktakraw team narrowly lost to Indonesia in the team regu event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, failing to advance from the group stage.
South Korea lost 0-3 to Indonesia in regu matches in the third Group A qualifying match of the men's team regu event at the Games, held on the 23rd at Mizuho Park Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan.
Team regu is a team competition in which each side fields three regus, or three-player units, to face one another. The team that wins two of the three matches first is declared the winner.
South Korea first lost 0-3 to Thailand in the opening group-stage match before defeating Laos 2-1 in the second. However, the team could not overcome Indonesia and finished third in the group with a 1-2 record, ending its hopes of reaching the semifinals.
South Korea's men's team regu won the silver medal, its best-ever result, at the 2014 Incheon Games and took bronze at the previous edition, the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. However, the team failed to finish on the podium at this year's Games.
Meanwhile, sepaktakraw at these Games features six gold-medal events: men's regu, quad, and team regu, as well as women's doubles, quad, and team regu.
