National Agency for Administrative City Construction Conducts Joint Safety Inspection at Hoedeok IC Construction Site Ahead of Chuseok

On the 23rd, the National Agency for Administrative City Construction said it had conducted an on-site inspection with Daejeon Metropolitan City, Korea Expressway Corporation, and other related agencies. The inspection team examined the management conditions of key construction-site facilities and addressed potential hazards both inside and outside the site in advance.
The team also focused on checking whether subcontract payments and wages owed to construction workers had been delayed ahead of the holiday. An emergency contact network linking the relevant agencies and the construction site was established to enable an immediate response to accidents or emergencies during the holiday.
The Hoedeok IC connecting road project will directly link the Gyeongbu Expressway with the Daejeon Riverside Urban Expressway. The road is being built over a total length of 0.8 km with six lanes serving both directions, and construction is targeted for completion in 2028.
A plan is also being pursued to install an auxiliary lane on the uphill-bound section of Hoedeok IC to reduce the risk of accidents caused by vehicle weaving and traffic congestion.
Kwon Jang-seop, head of the National Agency for Administrative City Construction's Wide-Area Roads Division, said, "With construction work currently progressing actively at Hoedeok IC, thorough safety management around the site during the Chuseok holiday is more important than anything else." He urged, "I ask everyone involved in the construction to strictly follow safety rules and make every effort to manage the site so that not a single safety accident occurs by eliminating hazards in advance."
