[Financial News] Meritz Securities will enter the issued-note business after receiving approval for short-term financial business from financial authorities. The number of issued-note operators in South Korea has risen to nine.
The Financial Services Commission held its 16th regular meeting on the 23rd and approved the designation of Meritz Securities as a comprehensive financial investment business operator with at least 4 trillion won in equity capital, along with its license for short-term financial business.
Following the designation and approval, Meritz Securities is set to operate an issued-note business. The nine comprehensive financial investment business operators licensed for short-term financial business are now Mirae Asset Securities, Korea Investment & Securities, NH Investment & Securities, KB Securities, KIWOOM Securities, Shinhan Investment & Securities, Hana Securities, Samsung Securities and Meritz Securities.
The FSC expects the expansion of issued-note operators to increase the supply of venture capital and help meet companies’ diverse funding needs.
