Leadoff hitter Park Jae-hyun went 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including a grand slam. Substitute Park Jun-soon also hit a grand slam, as the two players combined for nine RBIs.
Moon Bo-kyung added a two-run homer, while Jung Jun-jae contributed three hits and two RBIs and KIM Do-young drove in two runs, giving South Korea a balanced offensive performance.
After taking control early, South Korea easily reached the 15-run margin required for a mercy-rule game in the fifth inning.
Starter Oh Won-seok delivered four scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out eight. Bae Chan-seung came on in relief in the fifth and closed out the game.
After defeating Taiwan 5-0 and Hong Kong 13-0 in a seventh-inning mercy-rule win, South Korea finished the group stage with three victories and advanced to the Super Round as Group B winners.
The Super Round begins on the 25th. Carrying one win into the next stage, South Korea is expected to face Japan, the likely Group A winner, at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th at Toyohashi Civic Stadium.
