Mincheol Sim Named Second Deputy Superintendent of the Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education, Official Duties to Begin on the 28th

[Financial News Jeonnam-Gwangju—Hwang Tae-jong, reporter] Mincheol Sim, Director General for Student Health and Safety Policy at the Ministry of Education, has been appointed Second Deputy Superintendent of the Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education and will officially begin his duties on the 28th.
The Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education explained that the appointment was made to support the stable operation of the new administrative system following the integration of education in Jeonnam and Gwangju, and to strengthen policy cooperation with the central government.
According to the Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education, newly appointed Second Deputy Superintendent Mincheol Sim has held various positions at the Ministry of Education, including Director General for Talent Policy Planning, Director General for University and Academic Policy, Director of the Local Educational Autonomy Division, and Chief Secretary to the Minister of Education. Through these roles, he has gained extensive experience in education policy and local educational administration.
Based on close cooperation with the central government, he is expected to work on developing future talent in response to changes in the region's industrial structure, including the creation of a semiconductor cluster, while also stabilizing the integrated office's organization and establishing a culture of collaboration.
Second Deputy Superintendent Sim said, "To contribute to the new beginning of the Jeonnam Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education, I will work with the education community to create tangible change for 'Education for the Republic of Korea, made by us—a leap forward as a K-Education Special City.'"
