Dong-A University Occupational Therapy Department Wins External Award in Its First Year

[Financial News] Dong-A University announced on the 23rd that its Department of Occupational Therapy had received an Encouragement Award at the Korean Society of Occupational Therapy's university student capstone design competition. It was the newly established department's first external award.
Dong-A University entered the competition with a project titled "Development of a Hand Rehabilitation Aid Based on a 3D Printing Pen." The students designed and presented a customized rehabilitation aid that helps patients and caregivers safely continue hand self-rehabilitation at home after discharge by providing an intuitive understanding of the structure and movement of the hand and finger joints.
Choi Da-yeon, a first-year student who gave the presentation, said, "This was the first competition I prepared for since entering university. Turning the idea into a prototype was not easy. The university provided training equipment, and the assistive-device practice lab was open during the vacation, which helped us achieve a good result."
