"Is That Person a Singer Too?" Another Eyewitness Account of Sim Soo-bong 'Taking Aim at a Junior Singer' Emerges—This Time, Jung Mi-ae

[Financial News] An eyewitness account has emerged alleging that singer Sim Soo-bong, who became embroiled in controversy after publicly calling out 17-year-old junior singer Kim Dahyun, also made a rude remark to junior trot singer Jung Mi-ae in the past.

According to News1 on the 23rd, a post claiming that Sim Soo-bong publicly criticized Jung Mi-ae's performance at a concert in Daegu in the past has been spreading across online communities and social media.
User A, who wrote the post, claimed, "At a concert in Daegu several years ago, singer Jung Mi-ae came on first, when she wasn't popular, and did her best to liven up the atmosphere. Then Sim Soo-bong came out and said, 'Is that person a singer too?'"
The user continued, "Sim Soo-bong reportedly said, 'Don't put someone with such a loud voice on before me.' I thought it was really strange even then, and now she has made another remark like this," adding, "Even if she didn't like them, shouldn't a senior singer set an example so that her juniors can grow?"
As the post spread, additional eyewitness accounts supporting User A's claim poured in. User B, who said they had been at the event, wrote, "I saw the same concert, and it's true. That's exactly what happened." User C also claimed, "She was harsh to a rookie singer at that Daegu concert. She sang while sitting down, saying that her legs hurt."
Meanwhile, Sim Soo-bong sparked controversy at the Jinan Plateau Trot Festival, held in Jinan-gun, North Jeolla Province, on the 20th. Addressing Kim Dahyun, who performed immediately before her, she said, "She seems like a young lady who doesn't know what singing or life is," and added, "Please don't send that performer on before me again." As the controversy spread, Sim Soo-bong acknowledged that her remarks were a "slip of the tongue" and apologized to Kim Dahyun and her family.
