Gwangyang-si to Hold Ceremony for 32nd Gwangyang Citizens’ Day on Oct. 8 and Announce Vision for Ninth Popularly Elected Administration

【Financial News | Gwangyang—Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Gwangyang-si will hold a ceremony for the 32nd Gwangyang Citizens’ Day at the Gwangyang Community Center on Oct. 8 and announce its vision for the ninth popularly elected administration.
 The event is intended to commemorate the first Citizens’ Day since the launch of the ninth popularly elected administration and share Gwangyang’s new future and municipal direction through harmony and communication with residents.
 According to Gwangyang-si on the 23rd, the ceremony will begin with a pre-event performance at 9:30 a.m. It will then feature presentations of the Gwangyang Citizen Award and the Proud Gwangyang Person Award to residents who have contributed to regional development and public welfare, followed by the vision proclamation ceremony for the ninth popularly elected administration.
 At the vision proclamation ceremony, the administration will present “Gwangyang, the Industrial Capital of the Republic of Korea” as its vision and “Renew Gwangyang, Benefit Its Citizens” as its slogan. It will also introduce the vision framework to residents and share a new municipal direction centered on five major transformations.
 After the ceremony, trot singer Kim Dahyun, who serves as Gwangyang-si’s promotional ambassador, will give a congratulatory performance.
 A Gwangyang-si official said, "We hope the 32nd Gwangyang Citizens’ Day will become an occasion for harmony and communication where all residents can come together," adding, "We will share the direction of the ninth popularly elected administration and Gwangyang’s new vision, listen closely to the voices of residents, and work to build a better future."
 Meanwhile, Gwangyang-si will organize related events from Oct. 7 to 9 for residents to enjoy and participate in. The lineup includes Lee Ho Seon’s “Love Gwangyang” civic lecture, a special exhibition by photographer Baekam Lee Gyeong-mo, an open-ship event for ROKS Gwangyang, a competition among resident autonomy programs, the unveiling ceremony for the Gubongsan Panorama Walk, a Gwangyang landmark, and a performance of the musical “Prima Donna.”
