Three private gardens in Boseong County selected for 'Korea's 30 Most Beautiful Private Gardens'—the most of any basic local government nationwide

【Financial News, Boseong—Reporter Hwang Tae-jong】Three private gardens in Boseong—Galmel Garden in Ungchi-myeon, Seongnim Garden (Yunjerim) in Gyeombaek-myeon, and Kkumkkuneun Sup Seonyuwon in Boseong-eup—were selected for the '2026 List of Korea's 30 Most Beautiful Private Gardens,' organized by the Korea Forest Service and the Korea Arboreta and Gardens Institute.
 This is the highest number among basic local governments nationwide. Boseong County emphasized that the selection recognized the region's outstanding garden resources and the garden owners' management capabilities nationwide.
 A Boseong County official said, "It is meaningful that the value of private gardens, which their owners have cultivated with dedication and affection over many years, has been recognized nationwide," adding, "We will continue to systematically identify and support Boseong's outstanding private gardens and develop them in connection with tourism resources."
 According to Boseong County on the 23rd, the '2026 List of Korea's 30 Most Beautiful Private Gardens' was created to identify and promote outstanding gardens voluntarily established and maintained by private individuals, while developing private gardens as local tourism resources and everyday spaces for relaxation. Selected private gardens receive a 'Beautiful Private Garden' certification mark and are introduced nationwide through various online and offline media, including the KFS website, the Garden Nuri platform, promotional leaflets, and Garden TV.
 Galmel Garden, selected this year, is located in Ungchi-myeon. Pine and juniper trees, a moss garden, and a pond blend together to create an Eastern beauty and a natural charm.


 Seongnim Garden (Yunjerim), located in Gyeombaek-myeon, is gaining attention as a forest-style garden. Its lush hinoki cypress forest, cultivated over many years, combines with a variety of flowers and colorful hydrangeas to create distinctive scenery in every season.


 Kkumkkuneun Sup Seonyuwon was created at the foot of Hwalseongsan in Boseong-eup. With hinoki cypress trees more than 40 years old and over 300 plant species, it is a healing garden that offers visitors time to rest and recover in nature.
 Meanwhile, 194 private gardens nationwide participated in this year's competition. After 45 gardens passed the first document screening, the final 30 were selected based on a combination of on-site evaluations by an external panel of experts and the results of an online preference survey involving 19,204 members of the public.
