"Strengthening the Personal Information Protection System"... KOTEC Joins Forces with Korea Housing Finance Corporation

[Financial News] Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) has joined forces with Korea Housing Finance Corporation (HF) to strengthen personal information protection. 
 KOTEC said on the 23rd that it had signed a business agreement with HF to strengthen the personal information protection system.
 The agreement was established to strengthen the personal information protection inspection system and raise protection standards in response to increasingly sophisticated hacking threats and the risk of personal information leaks.
 The two institutions will pursue mutual inspections of their personal information protection systems; joint inspections of contractors entrusted with personal information processing; exchanges and cooperation, including personal information protection campaigns and training; and the sharing of materials and best practices related to personal information protection.
 They also plan to conduct mutual inspections to address the limitations of self-inspections and improve their objectivity and effectiveness. Joint inspections of contractors and technical exchanges will further strengthen their capabilities to prevent and respond to personal information leak incidents. 
 Kwon Hyeong-taek, chairman of KOTEC, said, "Safely managing personal information is a basic duty of public institutions that is directly linked to public trust. We will continue to expand cooperation with relevant institutions, enhance our personal information protection capabilities, and do our utmost to create an information security environment in which the public can feel safe."
