President Lee Meets Trump: "How Is the First Lady?"... December Golf Meeting Also Discussed

 【Financial News, New York (U.S.)—Choi Jong-geun】President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump held a 30-minute summit meeting in New York on the 22nd (local time). Their discussions covered not only issues between the two countries but also golf. After shaking hands with President Lee, President Trump asked how First Lady Kim Hye-kyung was doing and immediately proposed, "We should play golf sometime." At the end of the meeting, President Lee reportedly suggested playing golf together during a major international conference to be held in the United States in the future.
A senior Cheong Wa Dae official told reporters at a press center in New York, United States, that regarding the South Korea-U.S. summit, "As our president entered the room where President Trump was staying and shook hands with him, the first words exchanged after the greetings were, 'How is the First Lady?'" The official added, "President Trump immediately followed by saying, 'We should play golf sometime.'"
The two leaders then continued their conversation on major issues between the two countries, including the U.S.-China summit, China-related matters and investment in the United States.
Golf came up again toward the end of the meeting. The official explained, "As they stood up at the end, President Lee mentioned the possibility of a major Group of Twenty (G20) meeting being held in the United States in the future and said it would be good to play golf in Miami."
Cheong Wa Dae explained that although the South Korea-U.S. summit was not originally included in the day's schedule, the meeting was arranged unexpectedly after progress was made in negotiations on investment in the United States.
