LS Cable & System and LS Marine Solution Unveil Integrated Subsea Cable Solutions at European Wind Energy Expo

[Financial News] LS Cable & System is targeting Europe's offshore wind market with LS Marine Solution, leveraging capabilities spanning the entire subsea cable business from production to installation and maintenance.
LS Cable & System said on the 23rd that it is participating in WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, held in Hamburg, Germany, from the 22nd through the 25th. Held every two years, the event is the world's largest specialized wind energy exhibition, attracting global developers, power companies, and turbine and cable manufacturers.
At the exhibition, LS Cable & System is showcasing a full range of products, from medium-voltage (MV) distribution cables for wind turbines and subsea cables connecting turbines to high-voltage subsea cables linking offshore facilities with onshore networks. Subsea cables are key infrastructure for transmitting electricity generated at offshore wind farms to onshore power grids.
The company is also introducing its 500-kV-class high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable technology, the only such technology commercialized in Korea's power industry. According to LS Cable & System, its 525-kV, 80°C-rated HVDC subsea cable can increase transmission capacity by up to 25% compared with existing 70°C-rated products.
LS Cable & System is strengthening its business structure with LS Marine Solution by linking subsea cable production, laying, installation, and maintenance. LS Marine Solution is building a large 13,000-ton-class HVDC subsea cable-laying vessel, targeted for deployment in 2028.
To meet the green procurement requirements of European offshore wind projects, the companies are also showcasing materials made with recycled copper and low-carbon and recycled aluminum.
An LS Cable & System official said, "Europe is a key market for LS Cable & System, as we have secured the largest supply contract for the TenneT project, Europe's largest HVDC project. We will continue expanding our business based on our HVDC technology and subsea construction capabilities."
