[Financial News] 'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung' and 10 other Korean broadcast works will enter Asia's largest media and entertainment content market, which will be held in Singapore this December. The government plans to introduce the works locally and support overseas investment consultations and export promotion.
The Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC) and the Korea Communications Agency (KCA) announced on the 23rd that they had finalized 11 works selected for an overseas distribution support program linked to the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), which will be held from December 3 to 5. The program was established to give domestic broadcasters and production companies opportunities to present content they are planning or currently producing to overseas markets.
The selected works are broadcast programs that use artificial intelligence (AI) technology. They consist of four AI-based production-support projects, including "Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung," and seven AI-assisted development programs, including "Unforgettable Duet 2." Works in various genres, ranging from the planning stage to production, were included.
"Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung" uses AI de-aging technology to transform or restore the faces of people in videos and photographs. "Unforgettable Duet 2" uses Oasis AIX technology to create video scenes based on photographic materials.
The KMCC and KCA plan to introduce the selected works to overseas investment firms in Singapore and support investment consultations, exports and promotion. The two agencies have showcased Korean broadcast content using AI technology at the ATF since 2024. This year, they also plan to support the overseas distribution of the 11 selected works.
