Kim Kyung-ho, 'Corporate Banking Expert,' Named Next Citibank Korea President

[Financial News] Kim Kyung-ho, executive vice president of the Corporate Banking Group, has been selected as the next president of Citibank Korea.
According to financial industry sources on the 23rd, Citibank Korea's Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee recommended Kim as the final candidate for the next bank president at a meeting held on the 22nd. 
The committee explained, "Kim Kyung-ho was selected as the final candidate after comprehensively considering his long-term management vision and strategy, internal and external communication and leadership capabilities, management expertise, and insight into the financial industry."
Kim is a corporate banking expert who has worked in corporate banking at Citigroup for more than 20 years.
After graduating from Seoul National University with a degree in international economics, he began his career in the management administration division of Samsung C&T in 1992. He later worked as a consultant at global consulting firm McKinsey & Company in 2000.
He moved to Citibank's Seoul branch in 2001, marking the start of his career in the financial sector in earnest. After serving as a corporate banking credit officer, he worked as a corporate banking credit officer in the Large Corporate Banking Division of Citibank Korea's Corporate Banking Group in 2004. He subsequently built his career primarily in corporate banking for large companies.
In 2015, he became head of the Large Corporate Banking Division within the Corporate Banking Group. In 2017, he moved to become head of the Financial Institutions Division, overseeing corporate banking operations for financial companies and other clients. He has served as executive vice president of the Corporate Banking Group since February 2021.
Kim is expected to be officially appointed as the next president of Citibank Korea on October 27, following approval by the general meeting of shareholders and the board of directors.
Yoo Myung-soon, the current president of Citibank Korea, previously announced her intention to step down when her term ended at the end of July.
