[Financial News, Chuncheon = Kim Ki-seop, reporter] Six cosmetics companies from Gangwon Province held 57 consultations with local buyers in Nanjing, China, paving the way for export contracts worth $6 million.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 23rd, Gangwon TP held this year's export consultation event for Gangwon companies seeking to enter the Chinese market from Sept. 14 to 18 at Fengda International Hotel in Nanjing, China. Organized as part of a project to strengthen the hub functions of industrial technology complexes, the event brought participating companies together with local buyers for one-on-one meetings. They signed 12 memoranda of understanding and two actual contracts, while securing 30 new buyers.
All six participating companies signed at least one memorandum of understanding, while Jiwon Bio and Danjeong Bio each secured one actual contract. During the consultations, the companies examined China's distribution structure and consumer demand, laying the groundwork for entering local sales networks.
During the visit, Gangwon TP also signed an memorandum of understanding with Nanjing Baguazhou Cross-Border Service Industry, a cross-border e-commerce specialist in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The agreement is intended to help food and cosmetics companies from Gangwon Province enter China's distribution networks. The company supports local distribution and cross-border e-commerce, while also assisting with the issuance of hygiene permits required for entry into China.
The company also plans to establish a Gangwon Province product exhibition hall at its facilities, where products from the province can be displayed continuously to local buyers and consumers. It will support follow-up consultations and transactions after the event.
Noh Beom-sik, head of Gangwon TP's Industrial Support Team, said, "Small and medium-sized companies in Gangwon Province found it difficult to enter the Chinese market on their own because of the barriers to obtaining hygiene permits and securing distribution networks. Now that a permanent exhibition hall and sales outlet have been established in Nanjing, we will support them to the end so that the 12 memoranda of understanding and two actual contracts signed this time lead to actual export results."
