Downstairs Neighbor Opens Woman's Door at Midnight Using Her Passcode, Watches Her in Underwear—and Is Found Not Guilty

[Financial News]   A case has come to light in which a downstairs neighbor entered the passcode to a woman's home late at night and opened the door, but was found not guilty due to a lack of evidence.
On the 22nd, JTBC's 'Sageonbanjang' reported the story of a female informant, identified as A.
According to A, at around 2 a.m. on the 5th, she became suspicious after hearing someone enter the eight-digit passcode to her front door. The passcode was an eight-digit combination unrelated to A's personal information, and only she and her boyfriend knew it. Since her boyfriend was not the type to visit without contacting her first, A hurried to the entrance in alarm.
A explained what happened, saying, "By the time I went to the entrance, the door was already wide open." Fortunately, the security chain was engaged, so the door had opened only about one and a half handspans. A said she nevertheless made eye contact with a man through the gap.
The man was standing outside the door, looking at A and into the home. A was wearing only underwear at the time. She locked the door and called the police, and an investigation confirmed that the man was a resident of the unit below.
The man was reportedly already notorious in the building for causing drunken disturbances.
He reportedly told police during questioning, "I was drunk at the time and don't remember what happened."
Police were also unable to determine how the man had obtained the passcode.
Ultimately, the man was found not guilty of attempted unlawful entry due to a lack of evidence.
Police collected the man's fingerprints, but the results are reportedly not yet available.
Since the incident, A has reportedly suffered from severe anxiety and is taking prescribed tranquilizers, medication for panic disorder, and sleeping pills. She stayed at her boyfriend's home for some time before returning to her own, but even the sound of knocking makes her anxious, so she is now preparing to move.
A angrily said, "I'm struggling with anxiety while having to shoulder the cost of moving, but the downstairs man is carrying on as if nothing happened. It makes me furious."
