Jang Dong-hyuk: "The Gift the People Want Most for Chuseok Is 'Lee Jae Myung's Impeachment'"

[Financial News] People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk directly criticized President Lee Jae Myung on the 23rd, saying, "This Chuseok, the gift the people want most is 'the impeachment of Lee Jae Myung.'"
In a Facebook post that day, Jang referred to President Lee's consideration of forming a "Special Investigation Headquarters for the Insurrection Case" and Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok's reference to Supreme Court of Korea Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae as "the lingering embers of an insurrection," criticizing them as "a disastrous collaboration between Lee Jae Myung and Kim Min-seok."
Jang said, "Every policy has failed. Both the left and the right have turned their backs." He argued, "Even after a cabinet reshuffle and a press conference, public sentiment ran against the administration. In the end, it pulled out the same old card: insurrection."
He went on to label soaring real estate prices, the crisis involving jeonse and monthly rentals, agricultural land issues, and the single-stock leveraged Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) incident as an economic insurrection. He claimed that the consolidation of military academies, the ROK-U.S. Alliance, and the landmine explosion were security insurrections, while issues involving judicial independence and personnel appointments constituted a political insurrection.
He added, "President Lee's tyranny and dictatorship are the real insurrection," saying, "It is a dying scream. The administration is heading toward its end."
Jang particularly claimed, "This Chuseok, the gift the people want most is Lee Jae Myung's impeachment," adding, "The best side dish on the people's Chuseok table is the resumption of Lee Jae Myung's trial."
Earlier that day, Kim appeared on the party's official YouTube channel and argued that Supreme Court of Korea Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae's refusal to accept the Blue House's request to re-recommend a Supreme Court justice nominee "had an inherently insurrectionary character." Kim called Cho "the embers of an unprecedented insurrection" and also raised the possibility of a parliamentary investigation and a special counsel.
The previous day, Jang also demanded the resumption of President Lee's trial at a "Public Briefing to the Nation on the Lee Jae Myung Administration's Policy Failures" held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, bringing up real estate, ETFs, the consolidation of military academies, and judicial issues all at once.
