According to political sources on the 22nd, Cheong Wa Dae staff visited the National Assembly that day and delivered "A Biography of Roh Moo-hyun" to the offices of Democratic Party lawmakers. No separate message was reportedly provided with the book.
"A Biography of Roh Moo-hyun" was compiled by Yoon Tae-young, a former director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation who served twice as a spokesperson for Cheong Wa Dae under the Participatory Government. The book is based on oral accounts given by the late former President Roh Moo-hyun during his lifetime, as well as memos and transcripts left by his aides at the time.
In political circles, the gift has been interpreted as an extension of President Lee's recent efforts to emphasize unity within the ruling bloc. However, President Lee did not issue a separate message explaining the specific purpose of the gift.
At a press conference on the 18th, President Lee referred to the values of democracy, progress, and reform, saying in substance, "We are all pro-Moon, pro-Roh, pro-Kim Dae-jung, and comrades of Lee Jae Myung." He reportedly also called former President Moon Jae-in and former Democratic Party leader Jung Cheong-rae, among others, on the 21st, ahead of his departure for a trip to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
