Yonsei Students to Attend Summer Classes at Oxford, 15 Each Year Starting Next Year

[Financial News] Starting in 2027, up to 15 Yonsei University students each year will be sent to the summer program at Exeter College of the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom to attend classes there.
Yonsei University's Office of International Affairs announced on the 22nd that it had renewed and signed an academic exchange agreement (MoU) with Exeter College of the University of Oxford, centered on these arrangements.
Under the renewed agreement, up to 15 Yonsei University students each year will participate directly in the University of Oxford's specialized small-group seminars and tutorials, which provide one-on-one and small-group instruction, beginning in summer 2027. During the program, participants will stay in Exeter College dormitories and will be able to use major college facilities, including the library, on the same terms as other students.
The two institutions have continued student exchanges since first signing an agreement on summer program exchanges in 2022. To enhance the continuity and stability of the exchanges, the renewed agreement newly includes an automatic renewal clause every three years and a student personal data protection clause.
Student exchanges between the two universities have continued in both directions rather than remaining one-way. Since 2010, about 25 University of Oxford students have participated in Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) and Winter Abroad at Yonsei (WAY). At the agreement signing ceremony, key officials from both sides, including Kim Yong-Chan, Yonsei University's director of international affairs, and Andrew Roe, head of Exeter College, also discussed ways to increase visits by University of Oxford students to Yonsei through YISS and other programs.
Kim Yong-Chan, Yonsei University's director of international affairs, said, "We are now able to consistently provide our students with opportunities to experience Oxford's longstanding academic traditions firsthand on site." He added, "We will continue to expand partnerships with leading universities around the world and broaden our students' opportunities to study abroad."
