[Financial News] K Bank has introduced a QR code-based bank transfer payment system at lottery retailers nationwide. Through technological collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises, it has reduced the burden on small business owners operating lottery retailers and improved customers' payment convenience.
On the 22nd, K Bank announced that it had introduced the QR code-based bank transfer payment system at lottery retailers nationwide in cooperation with Donghaeng Lottery and Eopullai, a QR easy-remittance platform provider. More than 90% of the approximately 10,000 lottery retailers nationwide currently offer QR payments.
The QR payment system was developed by combining Eopullai's QR easy-remittance technology with K Bank's financial infrastructure. Through technological collaboration with a small and medium-sized enterprise, K Bank introduced a QR code-based bank transfer payment method for purchasing lottery tickets offline.
Lottery retailers can use the QR payment system without incurring additional costs. K Bank and Donghaeng Lottery said the system added an easy bank transfer option to offline lottery purchases, where cash payments had been the norm. This reduces inconvenience for customers while making payment and settlement more convenient for small business owners operating lottery retailers.
The QR payment system is also easy to use. Customers can scan the QR code on the gold-colored QR information signs placed at most lottery retailers. They are then connected to a transfer webpage, where they can complete the payment.
An event will also be held for customers who use QR payments. During the fourth quarter, K Bank and Donghaeng Lottery plan to offer customers who use QR payments a voucher exchangeable for a Pension Lottery ticket worth 5,000 won.\u00a0
A K Bank official said, "By combining a small and medium-sized enterprise's QR easy-remittance technology with K Bank's financial infrastructure, we reduced the burden on small business owners operating lottery retailers and improved payment convenience for customers purchasing lottery tickets." The official added, "As Donghaeng Lottery's financial partner, with which we have worked for many years, we will continue expanding financial services that reduce inconvenience throughout the lottery purchasing process and benefit both customers and retailers."
Meanwhile, in 2023, K Bank introduced its "Easy Top-Up Service," which allows users to directly add funds required to purchase internet lottery tickets from their K Bank accounts.\u00a0
