Soongsil University Club 'DURU' Wins Excellence Award at Capital Area University Startup Workshop

[Financial News] Soongsil University's student startup club 'DURU' won an Excellence Award at a startup competition attended by major universities in the metropolitan area for its artificial intelligence (AI) technology specialized in design rights.
Soongsil University announced on the 22nd that its student startup club, DURU, received an Excellence Award by ranking third overall in the presentation evaluation at the '2026 Capital Area University Startup Club Joint Workshop' held at the KB Securities Training Center in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, from the 15th to the 16th.
The DURU team, composed of students Kim Young-min and Shin Dong Guk, presented an artificial intelligence (AI) agent designed to streamline and assist with design rights-related tasks as their startup item. Among the participating teams, they achieved excellent results, receiving high marks for the distinctiveness of their item and its potential for actual commercialization.
This event is the 'Startup CAMP:ON' program organized by Hanyang University's Startup Support Center as part of the Startup-Focused University Project. It was held to revitalize exchanges among startup clubs at universities in the metropolitan area and to share excellent startup ideas. A total of 27 startup clubs from 14 universities in the metropolitan area participated, including Soongsil University, Konkuk University, Kwangwoon University, Dongguk University, Sogang University, Sookmyung Women's University, Ajou University, Yonsei University, and Ewha Womans University.
During the event, participants refined their business models and differentiation strategies through special lectures on entrepreneurship, expert mentoring, and networking, followed by an IR Show and Q&A session.
An official from Soongsil University's Startup Support Center stated, "This award is the result of students refining their startup ideas and actively incorporating expert feedback," adding, "We will continue to provide ongoing support to help student startup clubs strengthen their practical capabilities and develop their ideas into actual businesses."
