More Than 9,000 Public Parking Lots to Open Free During Chuseok Holiday—Find Them on Kakao Map

[Financial News]  More than 9,000 public parking lots operated by public institutions, government agencies and schools nationwide will be open free of charge from the 24th to the 27th during the Chuseok holiday. The locations and operating hours of the free parking lots will be available from the afternoon of the 23rd on major map and navigation apps, including NAVER Map, Kakao Map and TMAP.
The MOIS announced on the 22nd that more than 9,000 public parking lots nationwide would be open free of charge during the Chuseok holiday.
Information on the free parking lots will be available through Gongyu Nuri, the government’s public resource opening and sharing service, as well as NAVER Map, iNavi Air, Kakao Map, TMAP and Hyundai and Kia vehicle navigation systems.
By searching for terms such as “Chuseok free parking lot,” “holiday free parking lot,” “holiday free public parking lot,” “free parking lot,” or “free public parking lot” on these apps, users can find free parking near their current location or destination and receive directions.
However, the free-opening dates, operating hours and availability of overnight access vary by parking lot. Users should check the detailed operating information for their destination on Gongyu Nuri or a map and navigation app before visiting.
Since 2018, the MOIS has collected and provided information on parking lots at public institutions and schools that are opened during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.
