Dongjak District Accelerates Redevelopment and Reconstruction Projects, Launching Area-Specific Project Acceleration Task Forces

[Financial News] Seoul's Dongjak District has launched area-specific project acceleration task forces (TFTs) to speed up redevelopment and reconstruction projects in the district. The district plans to combine continuous management by area with tailored support for individual project sites, focusing on issues such as permit delays and conflicts among residents.
According to Dongjak District on the 22nd, it formed the area-specific project acceleration TFTs on the 11th and began full-scale operations.
The area-specific project acceleration TFTs comprise relevant district office departments, project implementers such as associations and promotion committees, and experts in various fields of urban renewal.
They will operate in two forms: regional TFTs and project-specific tailored TFTs.
The six regional TFTs, which will operate continuously, cover five areas: Noryangjin-dong, Heukseok, Sangdo, Sadang I and II, and Daebang–Sindaebang. They will monitor the progress of urban renewal projects in each area and review problems at each project stage, along with major outstanding issues.
Project-specific tailored TFTs will be activated for sites requiring intensive review. They will focus on issues arising at individual project sites, including permit delays, conflicts between residents and project associations, and consultations on public contributions and infrastructure.
The two types of TFTs will convene as needed when issues arise, combining written and in-person consultations depending on the matter. When necessary, projects may be designated for intensive oversight by the Urban Renewal Project Promotion Committee, which reports directly to the district mayor, or linked to the Conflict Management Committee scheduled to launch in October to help restore projects to normal operations.
Ryu Sam-young, mayor of Dongjak District, said, "Urban renewal projects are important initiatives that change residents' lives and the future of the community, so it is crucial to identify and promptly resolve both major and minor issues that arise on the ground. We will move forward smoothly with swift urban renewal projects in line with what residents want."
