Seongbuk District Delivers 23.65 Million Won in Donations for Nepal Flood Recovery

[Financial News] Seoul's Seongbuk District said on the 22nd that it had visited the Embassy of Nepal in South Korea the previous day and delivered 23.65 million won in donations for flood recovery in Nepal and support for displaced residents.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Lee Seung-ro, mayor of Seongbuk District; Nirmal Prasad Bhattarai, chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in South Korea; Yang Sun-im, chair of the Seongbuk District Council; Park Geun-jong, chairperson of the Seongbuk District Urban Management Corporation; Seo No-won, CEO of the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation; Yoon Jae-sung, chairperson of the Seongbuk District Welfare Foundation; and Kim Jin-gyu, head of the Seongbuk District civil servants' union branch.
The attendees discussed the flood damage in Nepal and the recovery efforts, while offering words of comfort to those affected. They also expressed their hopes for the swift restoration of the affected areas and the victims' return to their daily lives.
The fundraising drive was organized based on the connection that the Embassy of Nepal in South Korea and the ambassador's residence are located in Seongbuk District. District employees voluntarily contributed, joined by staff members of affiliated institutions, including the Seongbuk District Urban Management Corporation, the Seongbuk Cultural Foundation and the Seongbuk District Welfare Foundation, as well as members of the Seongbuk District Council.
In particular, one employee of the Seongbuk District Urban Management Corporation personally donated 300,000 won.
The donations will be transferred through the designated account of the Embassy of Nepal in South Korea and used to restore flood-affected areas in Nepal and support displaced residents.
Lee Seung-ro, mayor of Seongbuk District, said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Nepal who have lost beloved family members and their homes to the sudden floods. I sincerely hope that the warm hearts of each Seongbuk District employee will provide even a small measure of strength to those affected, and that Nepal will overcome the disaster as soon as possible and return to peaceful daily life."
