Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon to Be Integrated for Advanced AI Services

[Financial News] Kakao Entertainment will integrate Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon into a single platform. The move is aimed at concentrating its story business capabilities under a “one-platform” system. By making Kakao Page the central hub, Kakao Entertainment plans to consolidate its core capabilities, strengthen its story intellectual property (IP) pipeline, and enhance its platform services. The strategy is intended to secure momentum for growth across the company’s business operations.
According to industry sources on the 22nd, Kakao Entertainment will provide detailed information about the service integration to Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon users on the 29th. The integration is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
Through the integration, Kakao Page will focus on enhancing its data- and artificial intelligence (AI)-based services, drawing on its webtoon and web novel libraries. 
The integrated Kakao Page will consolidate user experience data, including subscription patterns and habits, based on approximately 16,000 original story IPs, the largest collection of its kind in South Korea. 
Based on this data, the company will plan and produce outstanding works across various genres and subject matter to strengthen its IP pipeline. It also plans to enhance the platform by combining content-based technology with its AI capabilities. Through the integration, Kakao Entertainment aims to combine the strengths accumulated by each platform and expand synergies.
The company plans to strengthen the competitiveness of Kakao Group’s overall story business and improve execution across its operations by using its core capabilities and resources more efficiently.
A Kakao Entertainment official said, "This integration is part of a change aimed at using Kakao Entertainment’s core capabilities more efficiently through a strategy of selection and focus." The official added, "We will fully launch our global growth drive by strengthening the company’s fundamentals across all areas of the business."
