AWS, Megazone Cloud Team Up with Jeju Content Industry; Free AI Solutions for Tenant Companies

[Financial News, Jeju—Jeong Yong-bok] Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Megazone Cloud have joined forces with the Jeju Content Promotion Institute to support Jeju-based content companies and creators in using artificial intelligence (AI). The companies moving into the Jeju Content Business Support Center, which will open next year, will receive AI solutions free of charge. By late October, the partners will also begin a proof of concept applying AI to actual business models.
According to the Jeju Content Promotion Institute on the 22nd, it signed a cooperation agreement with AWS and Megazone Cloud at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Jeju AI International Film Festival held on the 15th. The agreement focuses on the AI transformation (AX) of Jeju's content industry.
The hub of the partnership will be the Jeju Content Business Support Center, which is scheduled to open in 2027. The institute plans to provide AI content production solutions, as well as testbed facilities and equipment, to companies and creators using the center. It will also operate joint programs to strengthen their AI capabilities.
In particular, companies moving into the center will receive AI solutions free of charge. The plan is to establish a support system that helps companies use AI at every stage of growth, from content planning and production to commercialization.
The first proof of concept is scheduled for late October. The Jeju Content Promotion Institute and Megazone Cloud will use AWS solutions to advance the existing business models (BM) of local content companies into AI-based models. A proof of concept is a process of testing whether a technology or service works in real-world conditions before full-scale commercialization.
The spread of generative AI is rapidly changing every stage of production in the local content industry, including the creation and editing of video, images and sound, as well as translation and marketing. For small and midsize content companies in the region, which generally have less capital and fewer specialized personnel, securing expensive AI and cloud infrastructure and specialized expertise has emerged as a key challenge affecting their competitiveness.
The significance of this partnership lies in connecting global cloud and AI infrastructure, along with domestic technical support capabilities, to the actual production and commercialization processes of content companies in Jeju.
AWS provides global cloud infrastructure and AI services, while Megazone Cloud is a specialized company that supports domestic businesses with cloud- and AI-based transformation.
The Jeju Content Promotion Institute plans to expand its cooperation with the two companies beyond businesses moving into the Content Business Support Center, extending AI-use support to local creators and content companies across the region.
Kang Min-bu, president of the Jeju Content Promotion Institute, said, "AI transformation (AX) in the content industry is a task that must be undertaken first to strengthen the production capabilities of local content companies. We will expand our cooperation with leading AI companies."
