Eunpyeong District Begins Free Flu Vaccinations for Children and Pregnant Women

The vaccinations will be administered in stages to children, pregnant women, older adults and vulnerable groups. Children aged 6 months to 14 years and pregnant women have been eligible for vaccinations since the 21st.
Vaccinations for older adults will be administered by age group at designated contracted medical institutions nationwide starting October 6. Those aged 75 and older can begin receiving vaccinations on October 6, those aged 70 to 74 on October 12, and those aged 65 to 69 on October 15. All eligible individuals can receive vaccinations through April 30, 2027.
Eunpyeong District is also strengthening support for health-vulnerable groups using its own budget. Eligible residents include Eunpyeong District residents aged 50 to 64 who receive basic livelihood security, people with severe disabilities, national meritorious persons themselves aged 15 to 64, and residents of social welfare facilities aged 15 to 64. They can receive free vaccinations at 150 designated contracted medical institutions in the district from October 12 through December 5.
Those wishing to be vaccinated should visit a designated medical institution with identification and relevant supporting documents, such as a resident registration certificate, disability registration card or national meritorious person card. Information on designated medical institutions is available on the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center website and the Immunization Assistance website.
Kim Si-wan, head of the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center, said, "Flu vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of infection and complications," adding, "We urge residents to complete vaccination at the appropriate time before the flu season, taking into account the period needed to build immunity and avoiding congestion during the early stages of the program."
