Looking for a 'Daegu Man'! Daegu Metropolitan City Seeks a Civil Servant Creator for Livelihood-Policy Communications

Daegu Metropolitan City is openly recruiting one fixed-term civil servant as a "livelihood-policy communications creator" to deliver key livelihood policies and vivid reports from local communities with a fresh perspective, as part of efforts to accelerate the recovery of the local economy.
The recruitment was arranged to give concrete form to the pledge to support promotional efforts for small-business owners, alongside the recovery of the local economy, the top priority of the ninth popularly elected city administration.
The creator will produce citizen-focused content by combining private-sector expertise in promoting businesses through social networking services (SNS), including YouTube and Instagram, with public-sector communications. The initiative aims to ease the promotional burden on small-business owners and draw citizens' interest and foot traffic to local commercial districts.
Public Information Officer Han Eung-min emphasized, "The success of policy communications depends on how easily citizens can relate to them and feel their benefits in everyday life. We hope many passionate creators with fresh ideas and outstanding video-production skills will apply to make Daegu's livelihood policies entertaining and bring vitality to the local economy."
The selected creator will lead the production of livelihood information content that explains, in an easy and entertaining format, specialized programs supporting promotions for neighborhood commercial districts and small-business owners, as well as everyday livelihood benefits, in videos of no more than 60 seconds.
The creator will also establish a dedicated character, or persona, by visiting policy sites and engaging directly with citizens and small-business owners, thereby communicating with citizens in line with contemporary media conventions.
According to Daegu Metropolitan City, the position is a part-time fixed-term civil service post at grade D, equivalent to grade 7. The appointee will work 35 hours a week. The appointment will last one year and may be extended to a maximum total of five years depending on work performance and other factors.
