KOSPI Reels Below 7,000 Under Individual Investors' Selling Pressure [fn Afternoon Market]

[Financial News] The KOSPI Composite Index fell below the 7,000 level during the trading session. Individual investors are selling more than KRW 1 trillion worth of shares.
According to the Korea Exchange (KRX), the KOSPI Composite Index stood at 6992.7, down 0.17%, as of 2:25 p.m. on the 22nd. The index opened at 7161.61 and climbed as high as 7171.44 early in the session, but has since fallen below 7,000.
By investor type, individual investors were net sellers of KRW 1.5891 trillion. Foreign investors and institutions were net buyers of KRW 164.3 billion and KRW 74.1 billion, respectively.
Among the top market-cap stocks, Samsung Electronics was trading at KRW 276,000, up 0.64% from the previous session. SK hynix stood at KRW 1.843 million, down 1.34%.
KOSDAQ turned slightly lower. At the same time, KOSDAQ stood at 832.41, down 0.46% from the previous session. Individual investors were net buyers of KRW 160.7 billion, while foreign investors and institutions were net sellers of KRW 85.4 billion and KRW 67.8 billion, respectively.
Among the top market-cap stocks, Alteogen was trading at KRW 251,000, down 1.57% from the previous session, while EcoPro stood at KRW 80,300, up 0.50%.
