Incheon Airport Exports Operational Expertise, Expands Paid Training in Greater China

[Financial News] Incheon International Airport Corporation is expanding its business in Greater China by exporting its airport operational expertise as training content. In addition to overseas projects focused on airport construction and operations, the corporation plans to expand customized paid training using its management strategies and smart airport technologies. It will use training for executives from Hunan Airport Group as a starting point to identify demand for follow-up programs from other Chinese airport groups and related organizations.
■ Customized Paid Training for Airport Executives
Incheon International Airport Corporation said on the 22nd that it conducted an Airport Operations Management Course from the 14th to the 21st for 20 officials from Hunan Airport Group and its affiliated airports.Hunan Airport Group operates and manages Changsha Huanghua International Airport, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, and Changde Taohuayuan Airport in Hunan Province. The training was attended by Zhang Mingliang, vice president of Hunan Airport Group, and Chang Xijuan, airport director of Changsha Huanghua International Airport, along with senior executives and officials responsible for various fields from the group's headquarters and regional airports.
The program was arranged after Hunan Airport Group requested to learn about Incheon Airport's operational and management systems and experience in smart airports. It was offered as a paid course at the Aviation Education Center and major airport facilities, with the participants' positions, responsibilities, and areas of interest taken into account.
The curriculum covered 10 areas, including Incheon Airport's operational status and management strategies, customer experience and services, digital transformation, smart services, and aviation marketing strategies. It also addressed airport construction and development plans, development of surrounding areas, aircraft movement area operations, Urban Air Mobility (UAM), and aviation security.
Field visits were incorporated into lectures by experts in each area. Participants toured smart check-in facilities, the Integrated Operations Center (IOC), the Baggage Operations Center (BOC), and air traffic control facilities to see how the training content is applied in actual airport operations.
Ga-Kyun Shin, head of the Management Division at Incheon International Airport Corporation, attended the completion ceremony on the 21st and presented certificates. The corporation and Hunan Airport Group also discussed ways to expand cooperation in airport operations and training.
■ Expanding Overseas Business from Construction and Operations to Training
The corporation is expanding its training business by leveraging its airport operations expertise alongside its existing overseas projects. Its overseas airport construction and operations business spans 46 projects in 18 countries, with cumulative contracts worth $619.53 million.In the training sector, it has provided paid and free programs to 12,210 aviation professionals from 165 countries worldwide. The corporation is increasing paid training by developing its operational expertise in management strategies, smart airports, and customer experience into training content tailored to the needs of overseas airports.
The training for Hunan Airport Group was part of this business expansion. The corporation plans to build on its cooperation with Hunan Airport Group by developing training partnerships with other airport groups and related organizations in China. Its goal is to broaden its foothold in Greater China by securing training demand from senior executives and officials responsible for specific fields.
Zhang Mingliang, vice president of Hunan Airport Group, said, "Through this training, we were able to directly experience Incheon Airport's airport operations system and its diverse expertise and best practices in smart airports.
