LG Household & Health Care Highlights Its Technology at Cosmetics Day Event

LG Household & Health Care was recognized for its technological achievements at the Cosmetics Day event hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
According to LG Household & Health Care on the 22nd, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Kang Nae-gyu received the Bronze Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the Cosmetics Day ceremony held on the 7th for his contributions to cosmetics safety management and industry development. Cosmetics Day was designated a statutory commemorative day last year, and government awards were established this year in recognition of K-beauty's international standing and importance.
CTO Kang and LG Household & Health Care's research team were recognized for improving Korea's beauty technology capabilities through proprietary ingredient development and research integrating genetics and dermatological science. LG Household & Health Care is advancing bioscience research based on artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.
LG Household & Health Care is strengthening its world-class cosmetics quality and safety management capabilities through cooperation with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Alongside the recent Cosmetics Day ceremony, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety launched the International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation (ICCR), a consultative body of heads of global cosmetics regulatory agencies, and joined as a co-chairing country to lead discussions. The first meeting this year brought together 16 organizations from 13 countries, including those in ASEAN and the Middle East.
The company is securing core research and development (R&D) technologies through strategic investments in biotechnology fields, including hair-loss care, ingredients used in dermatological procedures, and technologies that promote skin absorption. It plans to continue sustainable innovation throughout the research and development process—from materials and formulations to packaging—based on global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
Kang said, "As the Republic of Korea leads global cooperation on cosmetics regulations and establishes its leadership, it is providing a strong foundation for Korean cosmetics companies to grow into global enterprises in the world market. We thank the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its efforts and support in leading K-beauty's greater advancement, and we will continue to contribute to strengthening K-beauty's global competitiveness."
