Hope Friend Ambassador Shin Ye-eun Serves Meals and Volunteers in a Theater Performance for Refugee Children in Thailand

[Financial News] Actress Shin Ye-eun visited Myanmar refugee children in Mae Sot, Thailand, where she helped serve meals and took part in a theater performance. She formed new sponsorship ties with local children and will continue providing support.
According to Hope Friend, an international relief and development NGO, on the 22nd, ambassador Shin Ye-eun visited Mae Sot from the 11th to the 16th. It was her first overseas field visit with Hope Friend, and she assessed the refugee children's educational and living conditions.
Shin Ye-eun helped serve lunch at refugee schools and churches and performed a play she had prepared herself. She interacted with the children through paper folding, bracelet-making and recreational activities.
Mae Sot is located along the border with Myanmar. Many Myanmar refugees and migrants who fled conflict live there, and numerous households remain vulnerable because of difficult living conditions and economic hardship.
Shin Ye-eun has supported children in Vietnam, Ecuador, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, beginning with child sponsorship in Vietnam in 2019. Hope Friend plans to launch an overseas child sponsorship fundraising campaign with Shin Ye-eun to support refugee children in Mae Sot. The initiative aims to continue providing support after the visit by connecting field engagement with child sponsorship and fundraising.
Shin Ye-eun said, "After meeting the children in person and seeing how they live and study, I was able to get a more concrete sense of what is needed on the ground. I will continue to stay engaged and stand with them so that they can learn and pursue their dreams in a safe environment."
