[Financial News] Dunamu is bringing together policy and regulatory experts from the United States, Europe and Asia, along with representatives from the financial and virtual asset industries, to discuss the future of digital finance.
According to sources in the virtual asset industry on the 22nd, Dunamu will host the Upbit Institutional Summit (UIS) on the 29th at Grand Walkerhill Seoul in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, one day before the main conference of KBW 2026. UIS is an invitation-only event featuring key figures from global policymaking bodies, institutional investors, financial companies, and virtual asset and technology firms.
Speakers will include Brian Quintenz, former commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC); Harry Jung, former deputy director of the White House Presidential Council of Advisors on Digital Assets; and Caroline Pham, chief legal officer (CLO) and chief administrative officer (CAO) at MoonPay. Peter Kerstens, an adviser on financial technology and cybersecurity at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the European Commission (EC), and Johan Kerbrat, senior vice president and global head of Robinhood Crypto and global business, will also participate.
UIS will cover global virtual asset regulations and changes in market structure; tokenization and new asset distribution models; institutional participation in virtual asset markets; virtual asset regulations in major Asian countries; the transition of finance on-chain; and the convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain.
A panel discussion on the on-chain transformation of Korea's financial industry will also be held. Jongsub Lee, a professor at Seoul National University's College of Business Administration, will moderate the session. Participants will include Choi Won-seok, Dunamu's chief global business officer (CGBO); Eom Tae-seong, managing director at Hana Financial Group and head of Hana Bank's AI Digital Innovation Group; Ahn In-seong, vice president at Hanwha Investment & Securities and head of its Digital Innovation Division; and Hwang Seong-won, chief digital platform officer (CDPO) at Samsung Financial Networks.
The main conference of Korea Blockchain Week 2026 (KBW 2026) will follow from the 30th through October 1, the day after UIS. Dunamu will participate as this year's presenting partner for KBW. Kyungseok Oh, Dunamu's chief executive, will also take the stage to speak on "Beyond Digital Asset Trading: Financial Infrastructure for Connection." Through UIS and KBW, Dunamu plans to address the key issues facing the global virtual asset industry and its future direction.
Oh said, "UIS is a forum created to share experiences and perspectives from different markets at a time when the global virtual asset market is undergoing important changes, including institutionalization and greater institutional participation." He added, "We hope that in-depth discussions spanning policy, finance and industry will serve as a meaningful opportunity to connect Korea's virtual asset market with the global market."
Meanwhile, KBW, Asia's leading blockchain event, is marking its ninth edition this year. FACTBLOCK established the event in 2018 and has hosted it annually since then.
