Autumn Sports Day Along the Han River to Feature Obstacle Race, Performances and Market

[Financial News] An autumn sports day for the whole family will be held at Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul. The event will feature nostalgic sports-day activities, including a 50-meter obstacle race and a game of bursting a paper gourd, along with performances, a flea market and food trucks.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 22nd that it will host the first "Hangang Play + Place Autumn Sports Day" from Oct. 3 to 5 at the multipurpose cultural space Hangang Play + Place in Ttukseom Hangang Park and beneath the nearby Cheongdam Bridge. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day, offering a range of indoor and outdoor programs from daytime through evening.
The main attraction will be a 50-meter obstacle course set up beneath Cheongdam Bridge. Visitors can freely try the course from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the "Peulpeul Dream Team" competition, in which participants compete for the best time, will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The winner with the fastest time will receive a prize, and 30 participants will be selected by lottery to receive Ttaenggyeoyo delivery gift certificates.
Anyone born before 2012 can participate in the competition free of charge. Applications will be accepted from the 22nd through the 30th via the official Hangang Play + Place website and Instagram account.
Nostalgic sports-day activities will also be available. Outdoors, visitors can enjoy bursting a paper gourd, hula hooping and shoe tossing. Indoors at Hangang Play + Place, seven activities will be offered, including curling, limbo, colored-board flipping and cup stacking.
Families will find plenty of hands-on activities and performances as well. The program includes face painting and craft activities, as well as K-pop dance, fusion percussion and cheerleading performances.
A market and food zone featuring 30 flea-market vendors and 15 food trucks will operate beneath Cheongdam Bridge from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. A nearby picnic zone will also offer rental mats where visitors can relax.

Park Jin-young, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Han River Project Headquarters, said, "We have prepared a wide range of programs so that families, friends and couples can enjoy a sports day by running and having fun along the Han River, as well as hands-on activities, performances and food throughout the day." Park added, "We hope you will make special memories along the Han River this crisp autumn."
