[Financial News] POSCO Group announced on the 22nd that it has developed artificial intelligence (AI) for use in consulting projects to develop AI agents and will deploy it in the field.
POSCO DX has developed Agentee-C, an AI agent that works with consultants throughout the entire process preceding AI-agent development—from diagnosing business operations for AI-agent adoption to analyzing requirements and preparing design documents. The company is using it to improve the efficiency of corporate AI transformation (AX) projects.
The company explained that it developed Agentee-C after recognizing the limitations of the existing approach, in which consultants were assigned to every project and directly handled analysis, task identification, and design through interviews with business personnel. As companies' needs for AX initiatives arise simultaneously across various business areas, this approach has made it difficult to provide immediate customer support.
Before developing Agentee-C, POSCO DX had also developed and begun operating Agentee, a platform that centrally manages the entire life cycle of AI agents, from development and operation to evaluation and redeployment. The business analysis and design results generated by Agentee-C are entered into Agentee, creating a system that provides one-stop support for the entire AX process—from initial planning and design to the development and operation of AI agents.
POSCO DX plans to reduce the time required for consulting and design by more than half and accelerate customers' AX execution by quickly moving on to the development and operation stages.
Earlier this year, POSCO DX established the AI Workforce TF and began fully expanding its AX consulting and AI-agent development and operations. Agentee-C began operating in July and is being applied first to the company's own AX initiatives as POSCO DX builds experience with the system. Based on that experience, the company plans to enhance its consulting methodology for specific industries and customer characteristics by the end of this year and expand it to external AX projects.
A POSCO DX representative said, "The success or failure of AI transformation depends less on which AI tools are used than on how work is designed to be divided between people and AI and how they are enabled to collaborate. We will use AI agents to identify AX initiatives quickly and systematically and support their efficient execution from development through operation and management."
Meanwhile, POSCO Group has established a 'Mission-oriented AX' strategy and is accelerating the group's broad AI transformation around three pillars: Process, Work, and Value. POSCO Group plans to secure an unassailable technological edge through AX in manufacturing operations while expanding AI across office work to transform how employees work.
