[Financial News] APR has become the first company in the beauty industry to obtain two international certifications related to artificial intelligence (AI).
APR said on the 22nd that it recently obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification for an AI management system from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), as well as the AI Product Reliability Mark from Norway's international certification body Nemko Korea. APR said it was the first beauty company in the world to secure both certifications.
ISO/IEC 42001 is an international standard that evaluates whether an organization manages the risks and opportunities associated with AI systems and operates a management system for the responsible development, provision, and use of AI. To obtain the certification, APR established a management documentation system comprising seven tiers and 46 document types, covering the process from AI system planning to disposal. It also established management accountability and a risk-management framework while linking existing quality-management (ISO 9001) and Information Security Management System (ISMS) records.
The AI Product Reliability Mark verifies the reliability and safety of AI applied to actual products. APR obtained the certification for the AI Care Mode of medicube Age-R's "Booster Pro X2."
AI Care Mode analyzes skin conditions and cumulative usage histories to recommend personalized care routines and stimulation levels. The recommended intensity and duration are designed to remain within a prescribed safety range, and the system automatically switches to a rules-based mode if a malfunction occurs. Even when AI makes a recommendation, users select the final settings themselves.
Building on these certifications, APR plans to expand AI-based personalized beauty-device services that reflect each individual's skin condition and usage history.
An APR representative said, "Going forward, as we incorporate AI into beauty tech, we will offer services that deliver not only technological convenience and innovation, but also safety, transparency, and accountability."
