Daebo Construction Wins 520 Billion Won in September Alone, Joins One-Trillion-Won Club for Fourth Straight Year

[Financial News] Daebo Construction, the construction affiliate of DAEBO Group, has won successive contracts for the Gyeyang-Ganghwa Expressway and the Asan Tangjeong 2 Urban Development Project, surpassing 1 trillion won in annual orders for the fourth consecutive year. It secured two major civil engineering projects worth a combined 520 billion won in September alone, bringing its cumulative orders for the year to approximately 1.12 trillion won.
According to Daebo Construction on the 22nd, its consortium was granted preferred-bidder status in a review held on the 18th to select the qualified bidder for Section 2 of the Gyeyang-Ganghwa Expressway.
The Gyeyang-Ganghwa Expressway is a project to connect Sangya-dong in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, with Ganghwa-eup in Ganghwa County over approximately 30 kilometers via Geomdan New Town and Gimpo Hangang New Town. The total project cost is approximately 3 trillion won.
Section 2 covers a 5.8-kilometer stretch connecting Pungmu-dong in Gimpo with Geomdan New Town in Gimpo, with a total construction cost of 430 billion won.
Daebo Construction also won the contract for Section 2 of the site development project for the Asan Tangjeong 2 Urban Development Project. The project will create a mixed-use city with residential, industrial and commercial functions on an approximately 1.71 million-square-meter site in Tangjeong-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. The construction cost is 94.1 billion won, and the project is scheduled to continue through 2032.
Daebo Construction has continued to win major projects in the civil engineering sector this year. These include Section 3 of the Gangdong-Hanam-Namyangju Line metropolitan railway construction project, worth approximately 280 billion won, as well as Phase 1 of the heat transmission pipeline project in Goyang Changneung District.
In the building construction sector, it is participating in private-sector-participation public housing construction projects at Dohwa B-3 Block and Yangju Hoecheon A-23 and A-4 Blocks, as well as the construction of Songdam High School and Yeoju City's new municipal office building.
It also won contracts for the public-type knowledge industry center in the Gwangmyeong-Siheung Urban High-Tech Industrial Complex, worth 274 billion won, and the private-sector-participation public housing project at Namyangju Wangsuk 2 A8 and A12 Blocks.
Last year, Daebo Construction won projects including Section 3 of GTX-B, worth approximately 740 billion won, and the site development project for the Yongsan International Business District (YIBD) urban development project.
Daebo Construction plans to participate in large-scale technical bidding projects, including the Yongin National Industrial Complex. It also plans to launch an open recruitment drive for new employees in line with the expansion of its orders.
A Daebo Construction official said, "In this year's construction capability evaluation, we ranked 47th, moving up five places, while placing 27th in technical capability and 39th in construction performance. We will continue to strengthen our standing as a major construction company ranked among the top 10 in the civil engineering sector."
